Meet the locals: Erica Goleman

Erica GolemanWebmaster, Greenfield Community College

  • My favorite things to do include:
Working in my garden, hanging out with my kids, traveling, hot yoga!
  • I was born in:
Anchorage, Alaska and raised in Alaska and on the Oregon coast
  • I currently live in:
Conway, in an old Victorian farmhouse with a great front porch (and a whole mess of kids and a flock of chickens)
  • How I earn my bread and butter:
Webmaster at Greenfield Community College, an awesome school and a great place to work!
  • Five things I love about the Deerfield and Pioneer Valley area:
The change in the seasons (something you don’t get in Alaska); the Conway Festival of the Hills (the first weekend in October); living in the country but being only two hours away from the city; maple sugar season; the eclectic mix of people.
  • My favorite local hidden treasure you shouldn’t miss:
Ollie’s Down Under in Shelburne Falls, Hope & Olive in Greenfield
  • My perfect day spent in the Deerfield and Pioneer Valley area:
Perusing the plants at Laurenitis Farm Stand in Sunderland (Route 116), then gardening in the morning before it gets really hot; swimming at one of the many excellent swimming holes along the South River; an afternoon spent on the front porch; dinner at the fabulous Sierra Grille (41 Strong Avenue in Northampton); drive-in movie at night at the Northfield Drive-In
