    Gardening, playing the piano and going to concerts, reading
  • I was born and raised in:
    The Piedmont region of North Carolina
  • I currently live in:
    Conway – in the hills, surrounded by woods and a great swimming pond, flower and vegetable gardens, root cellar, one dog, one cat, great neighbors.
  • How I earned my bread and butter:
    Former Executive Director, CISA , a non-profit organization working to sustain agriculture in western Mass, throughout the state and across the country, and build a secure local food and farming system
  • Five things I love about the Deerfield and Pioneer Valley area:
    The farms and the farmers who work them; the cultural activities; Wilson’s in Greenfield; Shelburne Falls and West County of Franklin County; the clean air and great water.
  • My favorite local hidden treasure you shouldn’t miss:
    Annie’s Garden and Gift Store (not so hidden); Greenwood Music Camp in Cummington
  • My perfect day spent in the Deerfield and Pioneer Valley area:
    Breakfast of local food; one hour to play the piano; visit to farmers market; lunch with friends at local restaurant that serves local food; afternoon in the garden; dinner with friends before a classical music concert.
