  • Do I get a discount as a first-time visitor to Deerfield Academy?
    Yes! A ten percent discount for the first time your child visits
  • How far out are reservations taken?
    We book two years in advance with an initial deposit as a commitment,  followed by payment in full in advance two months prior for parent weekends and Commencement. There are no refunds for early departures or missed arrivals. If any rooms open up, we contact the first name on the waitlist, which is organized within our PMS by time and date.
  • How do I get on the “list”? My child has been at the Academy for three years and I have never yet stayed at the Inn.
    There is no “list” except a waitlist if all 24 guest rooms are booked. There are many, many nights throughout the year when we are not fully committed, but if you want to stay here only on parent weekends, there is a good chance that no rooms will be available as we only have twenty-four to offer.
  • Can I just give you my name and have you make a reservation for me on every parent weekend until my student graduates?
    We don’t know the dates of parent weekends until you do. We do know, however, that these dates can change, even after they are published. If there is a date change, we do not know this. When we do know, we try to move existing reservations to the new date, but this is not always possible. You need to give us the dates you want to stay, make a deposit to commit to the reservation, and then inform us if you need to make any changes.
  • Are there any two-night minimums?
    Yes. The busy weekends are all two-night minimums and Commencement is a package. There can be no refunds for early departures or missed arrival dates.
  • What does it take to get a room at the Inn?
    There is no secret system to getting a room. If a room is available and you want to make a reservation, we will take a deposit and send you a confirmation. There are, however, many parents who are very well known to us because they are in the process of putting their second or third student through the Academy. They visit their students often, and we get to know who they are.
  • Can I move my deposit to another date?
    Yes you can, if we do not lose a room sale by your cancellation.
  • How many guests can you accommodate in a room? What if at the last minute I need a room that can accommodate a third person?
    We have a few rooms that can accommodate a third person, including the suite, the double queens, and the queen/twin rooms. Our fire laws do not allow four people in a room. We also have a few cots that can fit in our superior king rooms.
